The Job

Project Manager, Technical Producer/Author:  At Thesis, PM’s are the reliable “go-to” resources for our clients and our teams. Success in this position requires digital experience and a strong understanding of managing personalized email and app campaigns–preferably an integrated experience including other digital channels, as well.  We look for proven self-sufficient workers who can motivate and collaborate with team members and departments, as well as resource and manage the execution of each project effectively.

This particular Project Manager role is unique in that it sits onsite and is fully integrated into our client’s team, located in Beaverton, Oregon. This role provides operational support throughout the development of the email and app campaigns (along with other integrated media)  including working with creative teams to brief requirements, sourcing appropriate creative content, as well as, management of back-end infrastructure set up for programs. This role will serve as a liaison between the creative and technology teams and other client/project stakeholders in regard to issues and escalations. The role will also manage the authoring and deployment of digital work through the clients programs/tools.

As a worker, you will:

  • Author, produce, and QA emails
    • Author emails in WYSIWYG style editor
    • Proof emails for link accuracy, tracking, and functionality
  • Manage stakeholder approval of projects
  • Brief in creative teams for development of campaign/project/digital assets, as needed
  • Make simple creative updates in Sketch
  • Provide engagement reporting to stakeholders
  • Provide strategic recommendations and insights for the geography, territories and channels
  • Build reports to provide to clients, likely presenting them directly to leadership
  • Identify, suggest and implement areas of opportunity within production process
  • Collaborate on or own projects rooted in operational excellence and innovation
  • Develop and implement best practices
  • Manage, create, and maintain documentation on existing and new processes
  • Management and maintenance of Content Management and Workflow tools for the Email and/or App channel(s)
  • Oversee scoping, briefing and production timelines and tasks for key marketing projects
  • Communication with vendor/internal partners to ensure alignment on project requirements and deliverables
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive projects forward, tracking completion and escalating to stakeholders when necessary
  • Provide project status updates/recaps to key stakeholders
  • Communicate asset, proofing, and approval deadlines to stakeholders, and be the main point of contact/liaison between internal and external partners
  • Authoring Team is focused on delivering the following results:
    • Reporting on operational compliance and risk
    • Increased email engagement by use of best practices
    • Serving client Territory needs


As for experience, you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field 
  • 4+ years of project management 
  • 2 - 4 years of email and/or app (targeted media) production experience, preferably in a retail/commerce environment


 But even better, you have:

  • Experience with email marketing, ESPs and email marketing technology preferred
  • Comfort with learning and using content management systems and project management software
  • Comfort with learning and using Sketch (creative software)
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Proven analytical skills and problem-solving ability paired with meticulous attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive team spirit who takes ownership of and accountability for projects
  • Ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and experience with quality assurance
